Ho Ho Ho

see the decorations in the bottom right corner? or yeah... that's our tree. i may or may not have decorated it before unpacking anything else. and then, we painted and washed windows. yay!

how's that for christmas spirit??

this will be our second married christmas, and i'm trying not to let the feeling of the season get lost in all the crazy hustle and bustle of the past few weeks. we're starting our own traditions, bit by bit.

this year, we're doing gifts on the 23rd and then going to zoo lights. i can't wait to see the polar bears by the twinkling lights of christmas trees. it's a way for us to celebrate on our own, before we start the crazy and wonderful trip back to visit both our families.

do you have any special traditions you've created on your own? i'd love to hear about them!

I am tradition-less, although my roommates and I DID buy our first-ever tree this year. That was pretty exciting. Nothing like Zoo Lights, though- that sounds like so much fun!

p.s. I would have set up the Christmas tree before anything else, too!

yay! leave it to you to have the most unique/creative christmas tree ever. :) i hope you guys can feel settled and relaxed for your christmas in a new home. whew!

dannon and i have been trying to negotiate our traditions. it's our first christmas as newlyweds and we're pretty excited about all the possibilities. knowing us, we'll probably change our traditions every year. :) but this year we're planning on having some waffles & egg gravy as our fancy xmas brunch, accompanied by our indie christmas music playlist.

You're so cute, Sarah. I love your tree and that you're making your own traditions, slowly. One of my favorites is getting Chinese food with family on Christmas Eve. It's just a nice time to relax. As for my boyfriend and me, we're still working on those. Right now, the tradition is to run between our families' homes. If you're not back before the 25th, Happy Christmas!!

Hope you're settling nicely into your new digs :) WOW, that picture is so beautiful! That sounds like a wonderful activity to do together and will be a nice tradition going forward!

I finally set up my tree last week. It's a small one but really helps to get me in the spirit so I would have done the same thing :)
